Shivpati Mahavidyalaya is a 1964 college opposite the railway station in Shohratgarh, Siddharthnagar, affiliated to Siddharth University, offering BA, B.Sc, B.Ed and MA.

Shivpati Mahavidyalaya has served Shohratgarh in Siddharthnagar district since 1964 and stands opposite the town railway station. It is affiliated to Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, and its B.Ed course is recognised by NCTE. After Class 12, students can take a BA or a B.Sc in either the physics, mathematics and chemistry group or the zoology, botany and chemistry group. Postgraduates can study an MA in Hindi, Geography or Ancient History. The college has about 1,000 students, a reading room library, science labs and a boys hostel.

Admission

Admission through: Merit, Entrance test

BA and B.Sc are open to students who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam. MA admission needs a bachelor's degree. B.Ed applicants need a bachelor's or master's degree with the required marks and go through the state B.Ed entrance and counselling.

• Bachelor of Education: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's and/or master's degree in a relevant discipline
• Bachelor of Science: Studying in: Class 12; Science stream usually required; universities set subject and minimum mark rules
• Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
