The Faculty of Humanities at Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, covers education, arts, journalism, library science, fine arts and defence studies, from BA and BJMC to MA and B.Ed.

Mangalayatan University is a private university on the Aligarh-Mathura Highway at Beswan, near Aligarh, with a campus of more than 72 acres. Its Faculty of Humanities, shown as the Institute of Humanities on the fee page, groups the Institute of Education and Research with departments of Arts, Journalism and Mass Communication, Library and Information Science, Visual and Performing Arts, and Defence and Strategic Studies. Undergraduates can take a four-year BA with any three subjects, a BJMC, a BFA, or a BA or B.Sc in Defence and Strategic Studies. Teacher education covers B.Ed, the four-year ITEP, B.El.Ed and M.Ed, and the university lists NCTE approval. Postgraduate MA courses are offered in English, Hindi, Economics, History, Education, Political Science, Sociology and Public Administration, with a 2026-27 fee of 25,000 rupees a year.

Admission

Admission through: Merit, Direct

Applicants fill the online application form for session 2026-27 on the Mangalayatan website and pay a Rs 500 application fee. The admission page lists only minimum eligibility for each programme and names no entrance test. B.Ed needs a graduate degree, while BA, BJMC and the integrated ITEP courses take Class 12 students.

• Bachelor of Arts: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks
• Bachelor of Education: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's and/or master's degree in a relevant discipline
• Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks
• Bachelor of Science: Studying in: Class 12; Science stream usually required; universities set subject and minimum mark rules
• Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
