About Visva-Bharati
Visva-Bharati in Santiniketan is the central university founded by Rabindranath Tagore in 1921, admitting UG students through CUET-UG and PG students through CUET-PG across its Bhavanas.
Visva-Bharati was founded by Rabindranath Tagore in 1921 at Santiniketan in West Bengal. An Act of Parliament in 1951 made it a central university and an institution of national importance. Teaching is organised in institutes called Bhavanas, such as Vidya Bhavana for humanities and social sciences, Siksha Bhavana for science, Palli-Siksha Bhavana for agriculture, Kala Bhavana for fine arts, Sangit Bhavana for music, dance and drama, and Vinaya Bhavana for education. The university also runs school sections (Patha Bhavana and Siksha-Satra). Undergraduate admissions use CUET-UG and postgraduate admissions use CUET-PG, with a separate non-CUET route for some courses and GAT-B for the M.Sc in Biotechnology.
