Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Jhansi was set up in 1968 to bring medical teaching and care to the Bundelkhand region. The foundation stone was laid in 1965. It teaches MBBS and runs postgraduate MD and MS courses along with a hospital. The college says it is approved by the National Medical Commission and is affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University.
