Rabindra Bharati University is a West Bengal state university in Kolkata, founded in 1962 in memory of Rabindranath Tagore, known for arts, fine arts, visual arts and performing arts study.
Rabindra Bharati University was founded on 8 May 1962 under the Rabindra Bharati Act and is a state university of West Bengal. Its main Emerald Bower campus is on B.T. Road in north Kolkata, and its Jorasanko campus is at the Tagore family home on Dwarkanath Tagore Lane. Teaching is organised in Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts faculties. Students can take BA honours and BFA degrees, MA and MFA degrees, a special education B.Ed, social work and library science masters, a Diploma in Tagore Literature, and PhD research. UG applications are made online on the university admission portal.

Admission
Admission through: Merit, Entrance test
Undergraduate applications are made online on the RBU admission portal, and notices for each course group are posted on the online notice board. Postgraduate and PhD admissions follow separate university notices. Selection follows the rules given in each notice.

- Bachelor of Education: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's and/or master's degree in a relevant discipline
- Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
