Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, earlier Agra University, is a state university in Agra with campuses at Paliwal Park, Khandari, Civil Lines and Chhalesar. The Department of Computer Science works from the Institute of Basic Science building at Khandari, and its roots go back to the computer science branch started at the university engineering institute in 1998. It offers a two-year MCA, a two-year M.Sc in computer science, a one-year PGDCA and PhD research lasting three to five years; the 2025-26 brochure lists 45 seats each for MCA and M.Sc. The department page lists yearly tuition of 70,000 for MCA and 20,000 for M.Sc, though no session is given. The head of department, Prof. Manu Pratap Singh, also convenes the university admission committee.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University invites online applications every year for UG and PG courses in its campus institutes; for 2025-26 forms opened on 5 May, with last dates of 15 June for UG and 15 August for PG. Candidates register separately for each course and must meet the course eligibility given in the information brochure. Admission to MCA and M.Sc Computer Science follows university norms; PhD admission is through the university research admission process.
