Andhra University in Visakhapatnam is a large state university whose campus colleges teach engineering, law, management, arts, commerce and science up to PhD level.

Andhra University is a public university based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and its home page notes nearly a century of teaching and research. Its campus colleges include the AU College of Engineering, a pharmaceutical sciences college and a law college, along with arts, commerce and science departments. For 2026-27 its Directorate of Admissions lists B.Tech (AUEET), M.Tech and M.Planning, five-year and three-year LLB, LLM, MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, BBA and PhD admissions. The university home page shows an A++ grade with a score of 3.74 out of 4. The campus has separate hostels, sports grounds and laboratories, and Visakhapatnam is well connected by rail and air.

Admission

Admission through: Entrance test, Merit

Andhra University fills seats through state entrance tests such as AP EAPCET, AP PGCET, ICET and LAWCET, and through its own tests such as AUEET for self-supported B.Tech seats. The Directorate of Admissions publishes notifications, brochures, application forms and counselling schedules for each programme every year. PhD admission runs through a separate research admission notification with its own counselling timeline.

• Bachelor of Business Administration: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks
• Bachelor of Laws: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in any discipline; BCI minimum not below 45%
• Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
• Integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws: Studying in: Class 12; At least 45% marks in Class 12
• Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
• Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
• Master of Commerce: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; B.Com (Hons/Pass) or equivalent such as BBA, BMS or BBE (University of Delhi)
• Master of Computer Applications: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or equivalent
• Master of Laws: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; LL.B. or equivalent law degree; final-year LL.B. students may apply
• Master of Planning: Studying in: UG; B.Plan, B.Arch or B.E./B.Tech (Civil or Planning); SPA Vijayawada asks 60% or CGPA 6.5 (55% or 6.0 for SC/ST)
• Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
• Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
• Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
