About APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) is Kerala’s state technological university, set up in 2014 at Thiruvananthapuram, to which engineering colleges are affiliated.
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, earlier called Kerala Technological University and widely known as KTU, was set up by the Government of Kerala in May 2014. It is a state public university based at the CET campus in Thiruvananthapuram. KTU is an affiliating university: it frames syllabi, conducts examinations and awards degrees for engineering, architecture, management and computer application colleges across Kerala. Programmes under it include B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Des, BHMCT and BCA at undergraduate level, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA and MCA at postgraduate level, and full-time and part-time PhD. Teaching happens in the affiliated colleges, and admission routes differ by course, such as KEAM for B.Tech and GATE for M.Tech.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test
KTU does not admit students directly to most programmes; seats are in its affiliated colleges and are filled through state and national entrance routes. B.Tech admission is based on the KEAM rank and counselling, B.Arch on NATA or JEE Main, M.Tech on GATE, MBA on CAT, KMAT or CMAT, and MCA on KMAT Kerala. PhD admission needs a relevant master's degree and the university's own selection process.

- Bachelor of Design: Studying in: Class 12; any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities); NID age limit - born on or after 1 July 2005 for General/GEN-EWS, 1 July 2002 for OBC-NCL/SC/ST, 1 July 2000 for PwD (2026-27)
- Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks
- Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
- Master of Architecture: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Architecture; At least 50% marks in UG; B.Arch or equivalent; reservation relaxations as per Central or State Government policy
- Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
- Master of Computer Applications: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or equivalent
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
