It later grew into the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, and in 1973 that faculty was split into separate departments of Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research and Computer Science. Today the department works from the New Academic Block on North Campus and teaches the two-year M.A./M.Sc. in Mathematics. It also admits PhD scholars, who give a short presentation on an advanced topic during the interview.
