Gautam Buddha University was created under the Uttar Pradesh Gautam Buddha University Act 2002. It is opposite the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. Its schools cover Biotechnology, Buddhist Studies, Engineering, Humanities, ICT, Law, Management and Vocational Studies.

Admission
Most programmes admit through a valid CUET score or directly on merit in the qualifying exam, while some use GBU-ET, GATE, NATA, JEE Main Paper II, an interview or a portfolio review. Seats, eligibility and duration for each programme are in the 2026-27 admission brochure. Applications are made on the university's admissions portal.

- Bachelor of Commerce: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks and may ask for Mathematics or Accountancy
- Bachelor of Computer Applications: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks (some run a mathematics bridge course)
- Bachelor of Science: Studying in: Class 12; Science stream usually required; universities set subject and minimum mark rules
- Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
- Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
- Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
- Master of Computer Applications: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or equivalent
- Master of Laws: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; LL.B. or equivalent law degree; final-year LL.B. students may apply
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
