Government College Chamba at Sultanpur, founded in 1958 and fully funded by the Himachal government, is a NAAC B++ college of HP University with BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA and MA.
Government College Chamba, also called Government Degree College Chamba, was founded on 15 May 1958 and stands at Sultanpur in Chamba town. It is fully funded by the Himachal Pradesh government and affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, and it was re-accredited by NAAC with a B++ grade in August 2022. Students can take BA, B.Sc (medical and non-medical) and B.Com, along with self-financed BBA and BCA (40 seats each) and a PGDCA (30 seats). PG options include MA in English, Hindi, Political Science, Economics and History with 20 seats each, MA Sociology, M.Com, MBA and MCA. Yearly fees for regular UG courses are low, around 2,600 rupees a year for a first-year boy in BA or B.Com in 2026-27.

Admission through: Merit
Students apply online through the college admission portal (gcchamba.highalteducation.in) as per the yearly prospectus. First-year BA, B.Sc and B.Com seats are filled under the college admission rules, while admission to higher classes follows orders of the Directorate of Higher Education, Shimla. BBA, BCA and PGDCA are self-financed courses with fixed seats.
