About Lovely Professional University
Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a large private university on the Jalandhar-Delhi G.T. Road at Phagwara, Punjab, ranked 31 among universities in NIRF 2025.
LPU was set up in 2005 and runs programmes from diploma to doctoral level across engineering, computer applications, agriculture, design, architecture, planning, business, commerce, hotel management, law, pharmacy, journalism, education and the humanities. It holds a NAAC A++ grade and its website says it was the first private university in India to get ICAR accreditation. Admission to most programmes goes through LPUNEST, its own entrance-cum-scholarship test.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Merit
Apply online on the LPU admission portal. For most programmes, eligibility and scholarships are decided through LPUNEST, the university's own national entrance and scholarship test; scores in tests such as JEE Main, NEET, CAT or GATE can also count for scholarships. You can book a provisional seat by paying Rs 10,000, which is adjusted against the semester fee.

- Bachelor of Laws: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in any discipline; BCI minimum not below 45%
- Bachelor of Science: Studying in: Class 12; Science stream usually required; universities set subject and minimum mark rules
- Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
- Master of Laws: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; LL.B. or equivalent law degree; final-year LL.B. students may apply
- Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
