MITS started in 1957 as Madhav Engineering College and is now declared a Deemed to be University under the distinct category by the Ministry of Education. It holds a NAAC A++ grade. The institute runs B.Tech in many branches, including newer AI and IoT programmes, plus B.Arch. Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Lateral
B.Tech admission is based on JEE scores and B.Arch on NATA scores, with counselling run by DTE Bhopal. MCA counselling is also conducted by DTE Bhopal. M.E./M.Tech seats are filled on GATE scores, and vacant seats through a written test. Diploma holders can join B.Tech in the second year through lateral entry.

- Master of Planning: Studying in: UG; B.Plan, B.Arch or B.E./B.Tech (Civil or Planning); SPA Vijayawada asks 60% or CGPA 6.5 (55% or 6.0 for SC/ST)
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
