About Indian Institute of Management Calcutta
The first IIM, set up in 1961 at Joka, Kolkata, offering a two-year residential MBA, PGDBA, an executive MBA and a PhD.
IIM Calcutta was incorporated on 14 November 1961. Its full-time two-year MBA includes a compulsory summer internship, and it also runs the PGDBA in business analytics, an MBA for executives and a doctoral programme started in 1971. The 135-acre campus at Joka has seven lakes, student hostels, the B. C. Roy Memorial Library and on-campus medical care. It is ranked 7 in NIRF 2025 Management.

Admission through: Entrance test, Interview
MBA admission is based on CAT. Shortlisted candidates go through the institute's further selection rounds before offers are released. PhD admission has its own application and selection process.
