The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) is a constituent department of Panjab University in Chandigarh. It began in the 2004-05 session to run five-year integrated law degrees alongside the older Department of Laws. For 2025-26 the institute lists 180 seats each in BA LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons). At the postgraduate level it offers a one-year LLM with 53 seats and a two-year evening LLM with 50 seats, plus a PhD in law and social sciences.
