About Visvesvaraya Technological University
Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi is Karnataka’s technical university, running its own B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MBA, MCA and PhD programmes alongside affiliated colleges.
Visvesvaraya Technological University, known as VTU, has its headquarters at the Jnana Sangama campus in Belagavi in north Karnataka. Besides affiliating a large number of engineering colleges across the state, it runs its own teaching departments in Aerospace, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication and Mechanical Engineering, along with Applied Sciences and Management Studies. Its own programme list covers B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Plan at the undergraduate level, and M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Arch and M.Plan at the postgraduate level. Admission
Admission through: Entrance test
VTU is the affiliating technical university for most engineering colleges in Karnataka, and it also runs its own departments and postgraduate centres. The university publishes eligibility rules for its UG and PG courses on its website, and candidates should check those rules and the admission notice for the programme they want. PG programmes are also run at VTU centres in Muddenahalli, Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mysuru.

- Bachelor of Architecture: Studying in: Class 12; Stream: Science (PCM); NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 as required by the institution
- Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
- Master of Architecture: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Architecture; At least 50% marks in UG; B.Arch or equivalent; reservation relaxations as per Central or State Government policy
- Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
- Master of Computer Applications: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or equivalent
- Master of Planning: Studying in: UG; B.Plan, B.Arch or B.E./B.Tech (Civil or Planning); SPA Vijayawada asks 60% or CGPA 6.5 (55% or 6.0 for SC/ST)
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
