BIT Mesra was founded in 1955 by B.M. Birla and was recognised by the UGC as a deemed-to-be university in 1986. Its main campus is at Mesra near Ranchi, with off-campuses including Patna and Deoghar. Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Merit, Interview
B.Tech and JEE-based integrated M.Sc seats for Indian students are filled through JEE Main ranks via JoSAA/CSAB. B.Arch uses NATA or JEE Main Paper 2, and B.Pharm combines JEE Main or NEET-UG scores with Class 12 marks. MBA uses CAT, MAT, XAT or CMAT scores plus GD and interview, MCA uses an institute test and interview, and M.Tech, M.Plan, M.Pharm and M.Sc give weight to GATE, GPAT, JAM or CUET scores.

- Bachelor of Pharmacy: Studying in: Class 12; Science subjects as specified by PCI Education Regulations; institution must be PCI-approved for the degree to count for registration
- Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
- Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
- Master of Computer Applications: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or equivalent
- Master of Pharmacy: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Pharmacy; At least 55% marks in UG; B.Pharm from a PCI-approved institution; registration with the State Pharmacy Council (required by JSS AHER within one month of admission)
- Master of Planning: Studying in: UG; B.Plan, B.Arch or B.E./B.Tech (Civil or Planning); SPA Vijayawada asks 60% or CGPA 6.5 (55% or 6.0 for SC/ST)
- Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
