Pondicherry University’s Department of Chemistry runs a B.Sc (Honours) Chemistry, regular and five-year integrated M.Sc Chemistry, and PhD research at Kalapet.

The Department of Chemistry is in the School of Physical, Chemical and Applied Sciences at Pondicherry University’s Kalapet campus. Students can enter after Class 12 through a four-year B.Sc (Honours) Chemistry or a five-year integrated M.Sc, or after graduation through the two-year M.Sc Chemistry. The department also guides PhD scholars. These routes prepare students for laboratory, industry, teaching and research careers in chemical sciences. Its parent, Pondicherry University, was created by an Act of Parliament in 1985 and serves as the affiliating university for Puducherry, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
