About Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi
DU’s Department of Computer Science on North Campus has run an MCA since 1982 and also offers an M.Sc in Computer Science and a PhD.
The Department of Computer Science of the University of Delhi was set up in 1981 and sits in the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences building on North Campus. It began its Master of Computer Applications in 1982 as a three-year course, one of the earliest in India, and the MCA now runs for two years. A two-year M.Sc in Computer Science was added in 2004, and the department also supervises PhD research in computer science with fellowships for scholars. It is the parent department for undergraduate computer science courses taught in DU colleges, such as B.Sc (Hons) Computer Science, though those degrees are taught by the colleges rather than the department. The department helps its students find internships and campus placements.
