About Mizoram University
Mizoram University is a central university at Tanhril on the edge of Aizawl, with NAAC A+ accreditation and B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Ed, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, M.Tech and PhD programmes.
Mizoram University was set up by an Act of Parliament and is a central university, with the President of India as its Visitor. Its campus is at Tanhril, on the outskirts of Aizawl. NAAC awarded it grade A+ in its third cycle in 2025, and it was placed 82nd in the university category of NIRF 2025. Teaching is organised in schools of earth sciences, economics and management, education and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, fine arts and architecture, and medical and paramedical sciences. Programmes include B.Tech in five branches, B.Arch, B.Ed and integrated BA-B.Ed and B.Sc-B.Ed, along with MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, M.Tech and PhD.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test
Mizoram University fills postgraduate seats through CUET-PG scores on its Samarth admission portal, and runs a separate non-CUET portal for other programmes. Applicants register online, and merit lists and notices are posted on the university website. PhD admission follows separate university notices.
Typical eligibility
- Bachelor of Architecture: Studying in: Class 12; Stream: Science (PCM); NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 as required by the institution
- Bachelor of Education: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's and/or master's degree in a relevant discipline
- Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
- Master of Arts: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; three- or four-year bachelor's degree; subject requirements vary (e.g. DU M.A. Economics needs Mathematics in Class 12 or 4 credits of Mathematics in the degree)
- Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
- Master of Commerce: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; B.Com (Hons/Pass) or equivalent such as BBA, BMS or BBE (University of Delhi)
- Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
