About Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research
NUCSER is the life sciences teaching and research centre of Nitte University at Deralakatte, Mangaluru, with B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD programmes.
Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research, or NUCSER, is a constituent unit of NITTE (Deemed to be University) on its Deralakatte campus in Mangaluru. It focuses on biological and biomedical sciences. Undergraduates can take a four-year B.Sc (Honours) in Biomedical Science, while postgraduates can choose M.Sc programmes in Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Cancer Biology, Marine Biotechnology and Food Science and Technology, plus a one-year M.Sc. The centre also guides PhD research. For 2026-27, Nitte’s fee schedules list Rs 1,62,500 for the first year of the B.Sc and Rs 1,81,000 for most two-year M.Sc courses.

Admission
Admission through: Merit, Entrance test
NUCSER takes applications for 2026-27 through the Nitte University online portal, apply.nitte.edu.in. Students can join the B.Sc (Honours) Biomedical Science after Class 12, or one of its M.Sc programmes after a relevant degree. The M.Sc Marine Biotechnology intake follows a separate GATB notification, and PhD admissions follow Nitte University rules.
