The School of Nursing Education and Research (SNER) is the nursing school of Jamia Hamdard, a deemed university at Hamdard Nagar in south Delhi. It was founded in 1983 as Rufaida College of Nursing, inspired by the university’s founder Hakeem Abdul Hameed. The school offers a full ladder of nursing study: the Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, the B.Sc (Hons) Nursing degree after Class 12, and a Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing for diploma-trained nurses. Graduates can continue to the M.Sc Nursing and then a PhD in nursing. So a student can move from a nursing diploma all the way to a doctorate within the same school, with admission to each level run through the central Jamia Hamdard process.
