SHEPA Institute of Computer Science and Technology was set up in 1999 on the SHEPA campus at Bachchaon, along the VRM Bypass Road on the outskirts of Varanasi. It is a private institute affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, and its management and computer courses carry AICTE approval. At undergraduate level it runs BCA, BBA, B.Com and B.Sc (biotechnology), while postgraduates can take MBA, MCA or M.Com. Most UG and M.Com admissions go through the institute entrance test and interview. The 10-acre campus has a library with over 10,000 books, computer and science labs, Wi-Fi, a training and placement cell and hostels.

For BCA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc and M.Com, SHEPA holds its own entrance test followed by a personal interview. MBA seats are filled through the state technical university entrance and counselling, with about 15 percent management seats given on graduation marks, national test scores such as CAT or MAT, and an interview. Applicants bring Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, degree documents for PG courses, a score card and ID proof.

• Bachelor of Business Administration: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks
• Bachelor of Commerce: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks and may ask for Mathematics or Accountancy
• Bachelor of Computer Applications: Studying in: Class 12; any stream; universities set their own minimum marks (some run a mathematics bridge course)
• Bachelor of Science: Studying in: Class 12; Science stream usually required; universities set subject and minimum mark rules
• Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
• Master of Commerce: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; B.Com (Hons/Pass) or equivalent such as BBA, BMS or BBE (University of Delhi)
• Master of Computer Applications: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or equivalent
