About Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai
IIT Bhilai is one of the newer IITs, set up in 2016, with a permanent campus near Bhilai in Durg district and B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc and PhD programmes.
IIT Bhilai opened in 2016 and has moved to a large permanent campus of about 432 acres at Khapri, near Bhilai. It is an Institute of National Importance. B.Tech students join through JEE Advanced and JoSAA, in branches such as computer science, data science and AI, electrical, electronics, mechanical and mechatronics. The institute also offers M.Tech, M.Sc and PhD programmes and was ranked 72 in the NIRF 2025 engineering list.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Interview
B.Tech seats are filled through JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling. M.Tech admission uses GATE scores and CCMT counselling, and M.Sc admission uses IIT JAM. PhD applicants go through a written test and/or interview.

- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
