Ujjain Engineering College was set up by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1966 and was earlier called Government Engineering College, Ujjain. It sits on a large campus of nearly 300 acres on Indore Road and has been declared autonomous by the state government. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. It teaches undergraduate engineering in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical and Computer Science and Engineering, with master degree programmes in Civil, Chemical, Electronics and Mechanical streams and doctoral research. B.Tech seats are filled through JEE Main and state counselling, and M.Tech seats mainly through GATE.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test
B.Tech admission uses JEE Main scores followed by online counselling run by the MP Department of Technical Education and Skill Development. M.Tech admission is mainly through GATE and state counselling. Allotted students complete document verification and pay fees at the college.
