The Mehta Family School of Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering at IIT Indore runs B.Tech, M.Sc Biotechnology, two M.Tech programmes and PhD.

Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering at IIT Indore began as a department in 2012 and now works as the Mehta Family School of Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering. It sits on the Simrol campus off Khandwa Road. The school offers a B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering and Data Science, an M.Sc in Biotechnology, M.Tech programmes in Biomedical Engineering and in Biomedical Devices, and a PhD. Its work brings together molecular and cellular biology, biotechnology, computational science, artificial intelligence and medical devices. Recent research highlighted by the school includes molecular dynamics studies of glycosaminoglycans and studies of G-quadruplex structures that control gene expression in bacteria.

Admission

B.Tech students join through JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling, and M.Sc admission for IITs is through IIT JAM. M.Tech applicants need a valid GATE score and accept offers on the COAP portal. PhD applicants apply on the IIT Indore academic portal and are selected after shortlisting and interview.
