The Department of Computer Science and Engineering belongs to Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, a state university in Rewari district. It began on 7 September 2013 as the Department of Computer Science and Applications under the physical sciences faculty, and later moved to the faculty of engineering and technology with its present name. It runs a four-year B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (60 seats, HSTES counselling) and a newer B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (60 seats, JEE Main based merit). The two-year MCA has 60 seats filled by the university entrance test, and research scholars can register for a PhD. It is a low-cost public option for computing degrees in south Haryana.

Admission

Admission through: Entrance test, Merit, Lateral

B.Tech (CSE) seats are filled through HSTES Panchkula counselling, while the B.Tech in AI and Machine Learning is filled on academic merit with a JEE Main score. MCA admission is through the university entrance test. Candidates apply online through the Indira Gandhi University admission notices on igu.ac.in; for 2026-27 the UG window ran from 20 May to 10 June 2026 and the PG window from 26 May to 20 June 2026. Diploma holders can join B.Tech CSE in the third semester through lateral entry.
