The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is part of National Institute of Technology Silchar, a central government Institute of National Importance in Cachar district, Assam. Its undergraduate engineering programme started in 1987, and it became an independent department in 2008. B.Tech CSE seats are allotted through JEE Main and central counselling for NITs. M.Tech seats are filled through CCMT on GATE scores. PhD admission is through NIT Silchar's own PhD notices and selection.
