About Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad
IIT Palakkad is a central government technical institute at Kanjikode in Palakkad, Kerala, set up in 2015 and offering B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, MS and PhD programmes.
IIT Palakkad was established in 2015 and started classes that July with 120 students; it now has around 1,700 students. The institute moved fully to its 504-acre permanent campus at the foothills of the Sahyadri range near Kanjikode in 2023. It has twelve academic units covering engineering, the sciences, data science and the humanities. Undergraduates can choose B.Tech branches such as Civil, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical, Mechanical and Materials Engineering. Postgraduates can take M.Tech specialisations, two-year M.Sc courses in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or research degrees leading to MS and PhD.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Interview
B.Tech admission is for candidates who qualify JEE Advanced, and the JEE Advanced roll number is used for fee payment after seat allotment. M.Tech and M.Sc applications are handled through the institute's PG admission portal. MS and PhD applicants apply through the separate research admission portal.

- Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
