JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research is a deemed university in Mysuru focused on medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health and life sciences.

JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, earlier called Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University, is a deemed-to-be university with its main office in the JSS Medical Institutions Campus at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru. It works through seven faculties: medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, life sciences, management studies and yoga. Its constituent units include JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College and Hospital, and JSS Colleges of Pharmacy at Mysuru and Ooty. Students can study MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, many B.Sc allied health and life science courses, and BBA in hospital management. Postgraduate options include MD, MS, MDS, M.Pharm, M.Sc and MBA, along with DM and M.Ch super-speciality courses and PhD in every faculty.

JSS AHER runs an online application for the 2026-27 year on its admissions page. MBBS, BDS and MD/MS seats follow the national NEET-based admission rules, and the university posts separate fee guideline notices for MBBS, BDS and PG medical courses. Pharmacy, allied health, life science, management and PhD programmes are applied for through the same admissions portal.

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Chemistry; Must have studied: Biology; Must have studied: English; Biotechnology accepted in place of Biology; age 17 on or before 31 January of the NEET-UG year; minimum eligible score in NEET-UG
• Bachelor of Pharmacy: Studying in: Class 12; Science subjects as specified by PCI Education Regulations; institution must be PCI-approved for the degree to count for registration
• Bachelor of Science: Studying in: Class 12; Science stream usually required; universities set subject and minimum mark rules
• Doctor of Medicine: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery; MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate recognised under the NMC Act 2019; permanent or provisional registration with NMC/State Medical Council; one-year internship completed by the cut-off date; NEET-PG qualification
• Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
• Master of Pharmacy: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Pharmacy; At least 55% marks in UG; B.Pharm from a PCI-approved institution; registration with the State Pharmacy Council (required by JSS AHER within one month of admission)
• Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
• Master of Surgery: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery; MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate recognised under the NMC Act 2019; permanent or provisional registration with NMC/State Medical Council; one-year internship completed by the cut-off date; NEET-PG qualification
• Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
