The IT department of ABV-IIITM Gwalior runs the five-year integrated B.Tech plus M.Tech in IT (90 seats), two M.Tech programmes and a PhD.

The Department of Information Technology at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior is home to the institute’s best known programme, the integrated B.Tech plus M.Tech in Information Technology (IMT), which admits 90 students after Class 12. The department also runs two-year M.Tech programmes in Information Technology and in Computer Networks and Sensors, each with 18 seats, an M.Tech plus PhD dual degree with five seats, and a PhD. The institute is centrally funded and sits on Morena Link Road in Gwalior. For the 2025 batch, the integrated programme fee is ₹97,000 per semester and M.Tech is ₹40,000 per semester, excluding hostel charges.

Admission

Admission through: Entrance test, Interview

B.Tech CSE seats are filled through JEE Main followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling, and other UG and integrated programmes are filled once a year through the entrance exam set by the IIIT Council. M.Tech, MS and MBA admissions take place once a year through entrance exams specified by the IIIT Council, while PhD admissions are held twice a year. Foreign nationals and Indian students abroad are admitted through DASA.

Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
