NIFTEM sits in the HSIIDC industrial estate at Kundli in Sonipat district, near the Delhi border. It was set up by the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries and is now an Institute of National Importance. Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Interview, Merit
B.Tech and the integrated B.Tech plus MBA are filled through JoSAA and CSAB counselling, with later direct and on-spot rounds. BBA (Hons) and M.Sc admit on CUET scores. M.Tech uses the NIFTEM-K entrance exam, GATE or CUET scores, and MBA uses the NIFTEM entrance test or CAT, MAT or CMAT followed by a group discussion and interview.

- Master of Business Administration: Studying in: UG; At least 50% marks in UG; bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline
- Master of Science: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in the relevant subject; two-year M.Sc after a three-year bachelor's or one-year M.Sc after a four-year bachelor's; universities set their own marks
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG

Scholarships and fee waivers
Students with family income below ₹1 lakh a year get a full tuition waiver, and those with income between ₹1 lakh and ₹5 lakh get a two-thirds waiver. SC, ST and PwD students pay no tuition fee.
