About Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram
IIITDM Kancheepuram is an Institute of National Importance set up by the Ministry of Education in 2007, focused on IT-enabled design and manufacturing, on a 51-acre Chennai campus.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram was established in 2007 by the Ministry of Education and mentored by IIT Madras, from whose campus it first operated. In 2011 it moved to its own fully residential 51-acre campus off the Vandalur-Kelambakkam Road on the southern edge of Chennai. It offers seven B.Tech branches, including CSE, CSE with AI, ECE, Mechanical, Smart Manufacturing, Design Engineering and Engineering Physics. There are six M.Tech specialisations, four dual degrees, an M.Des in Integrated Product Design and PhD in all basic sciences and engineering. Admission uses JEE Main, GATE and CEED.

Admission
Admission through: Entrance test, Interview
B.Tech and dual degree seats are filled through JoSAA/CSAB counselling on the basis of JEE Main ranks. M.Tech admission is based on GATE and the M.Des on CEED. PhD admission is notified by the institute for all science and engineering disciplines and involves a test or interview; foreign nationals can apply through DASA or Study in India.

- Bachelor of Technology: Studying in: Class 12; Must have studied: Physics; Must have studied: Mathematics; At least 45% marks in Class 12; one more subject from the AICTE list (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology)
- Master of Design: Studying in: UG; bachelor's degree in any discipline; final-year students may apply if they pass in the first attempt; NID age limit (2026-27) - born on or after 1 July 1994 for General/GEN-EWS, 1 July 1991 for OBC-NCL/SC/ST, 1 July 1989 for PwD
- Master of Technology: Studying in: UG; Enrolled in: Bachelor of Technology; At least 50% marks in UG; B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline; GATE score preferred
- Doctor of Philosophy: Studying in: PG; At least 55% marks in PG
